ABB has launched a range of low voltage AC motors said to have improved energy efficiency and lifespan.
The motors are being distributed in three performance ranges, named Industrial, Process and General.
The units are available with power ratings from 0.06 to 95kW and frame sizes between 56 and 250. Their frames are made from cast iron and aluminium.
The company says the motors in the Industrial and Process performance ranges meet the EU EFF1, EPAct and the Australian MEPS efficiency requirements. The General performance units meet the EU EFF2 standards.
According to the manufacturer, the bearings and cooling systems have been completely redesigned to provide a 30% increase in bearing lifespan and a 60% increase in load capacity. The units are much more robust than previous models.
