AMETEK has released the new Pittman Series 8540 brush DC motors which integrate high-energy bonded neodymium magnets for maximised power density.
According to AMETEK, the Pittman 30mm brush-commutated DC motors also feature a large diamond-turned commutator and copper-graphite brushes said to deliver high current capacity and long-life operation.
AMETEK says the Series 8540 motors are available in three standard lengths of 2.080in, 2.552in and 3.025in.
They can achieve continuous torque up to 9.3oz-in and power up to 43W, depending on model. The motors also have peak torque up to 78.7oz-in and can reach speeds of 6440rpm at continuous torque for standard motors at rated voltages.
AMETEK claims the Pittman Series 8540 brush DC motors are suitable for gearboxes, encoders and brakes using adapter plates and shaft extension modifications.
