ROHM SEMICONDUCTOR has released the second edition of one of its white papers on brush motor control.
The white paper, titled ‘Controlling DC Brush Motors with H-bridge Driver ICs, 2nd Edition’ is now available for download on the company’s website.
According to the manufacturer, the document describes how H-bridge integrated circuits (ICs) with modulated output (PWM) and integrated MOSFETs can control DC brush motors.
The ICs can be used by engineers to control speed, direction and braking in a variety of applications, including robotics, automotive assembly and power tools.
The company says the paper summarises its own line of H-bridge driver ICs and also includes sections on H-bridge basics, H-bridge drive topology, PWM speed control techniques and selecting the best units for certain applications.
