SEW-Eurodrive showcases end-to-end drive solutions at 2009 NMW

SEW-EURODRIVE says it will demonstrate its “total solutions approach” to the manufacturing industry at the 2009 National Manufacturing Week (NMW) in Melbourne.

SEW-Eurodrive will exhibit elements from its expansive and innovative electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical solution-set, which it says makes up a complete end-to-end drive solution. The products also feature energy-saving provisions.

According to SEW-Eurodrive, Australian manufacturers are increasingly seeking out ‘one-stop’ drive solutions, with all the components provided by a single supplier. The company says it is leading the market in providing end-to-end solutions.

SEW-Eurodrive says the energy consumption of drive technology has the largest impact on the total life-cycle operating costs. Therefore, optimising the energy efficiency can deliver significant financial savings.

SEW-Eurodrive will launch the W37 and W47 right-angle gearmotors at NMW. These units deliver torque from 70 to 110Nm and 100 to 180Nm respectively, making them suitable for conveyor applications.

The W37 and W47 right-angle gearmotors also feature gear ratios as low as 3.2, a two-stage gearing arrangement, high-output speeds and flexible operation.

The company will also unveil the extended bearing distance (EBD) MC Compact series of helical and helical-bevel gear units at the exhibition. These units are designed to absorb the high bending moments and axial forces that occur in mixer and agitator applications.

The EBD MC Compact series gear units are offered in five sizes suitable for motor powers up to 250kW and have torque ratings of 16 to 48kNm.

In addition to these, the new MOVI-PLC Kinematics PLC/motion controller will be showcased at the event. The controller combines kinematics control with conventional motion control to provide ‘six degrees of freedom.’ This controllability comprises of three-dimensional positioning and three planes of orientation.

SEW-Eurodrive will be exhibiting at stand 2905 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Southbank from 12 to 15 May 2009.
