CONTROL Supplies has released a unit designed to optimise the energy consumption of electric motors.
The Powerboss range constantly monitors a motor’s load, calculates the exact amount of power required and then adjusts it accordingly.
The company says the device can reduce the amount of electricity used, increase the lifespan of motors, reduce maintenance needs and decrease carbon dioxide emissions.
International research bodies claim over 50% of drive-power energy could be saved if the motor and drive systems were more efficient.
